Can I use my IRA or 401K account to invest in the OFG Trust?

The OFG Trust can be used very effectively in a traditional IRA account or many other types of retirement accounts (SEP-IRA, Money Purchase Plans, etc.). There are a number of different companies an investor may choose to act as custodian for their IRA. No matter which custodian is decided upon, the process is the same.

The investor would first establish a new IRA account. Once that is completed, a complete or partial IRA or 401K rollover would be transferred to the new IRA account. Since this is a transfer between IRA accounts, there is no tax liability to the investor.

Once funds have been received in the new IRA account, the money is traditionally placed within two to three business days. When the policy(s) begins to mature, distributions will be made directly back into the IRA account. At that point, the investor may choose to reacquire positions in other policies or move to a more traditional type of investment vehicle.
